The angel on my left shoulder and the demon on my right are duking it out. Wonder who's winning?

Of course it’s the demon. Looking at any chocolate now has become a torment, and the angel on my shoulder is a complete pussy when it comes to dealing with the demon guy, he sucks ass. In fact, the demon guy literally wedgies him and makes out with his girlfriend.

So the healthy lifestyle thing isn’t quite going to plan, and I need to run more. Does anybody have any ideas for motivation? I seem to have the drive of a busted VW van.

Oh very dear.

Great piece of independent journalism. Although I can’t imagine it would have been too difficult to find opinionated pricks there. Glad to hear ‘Mc Carthy and John Wayne were right’ if anyone wants to sign the modern day Jesus’ cross (he’s right wing and white too =]) and that the American right wing supporters don’t mind being cunts about someone about a week after they die. Anybody want a side of retarded with your fascist dicks?

Twestival

The local installment of the worldwide charity phenomenon Twestival passed wonderfully this past Thursday and to be involved was a great experience. Despite being somewhat quiet compared to the last one it opened the event up for us to be able to have really great craic with the creme de la creme of twitterers in Belfast.

Many congratulations to everyone who came and gave so generously and quizzed for booze. Awesome.

Flor-De-Lis

There are few things nicer to wake up to in the morning than the (unsuccessful) Eurovision delight that was Flor-De-Lis’ “Todas As Ruas Do Amor”. A wonderfully happy and acoustic tune, warms the place where the guitar callouses should be on my hands. The interesting thing about it is that of course, as a Portuguese song, it’s completely in Portuguese. I like this for some reason. And not just songs in Portuguese, which is a surprisingly lyrical language, I’ve always loved Spain’s La Oreja De Van Gogh and Italy’s Laura Pausini. For some reason, I simply like songs I don’t understand at all, where the words lose a lot of meaning and all that you’re left with is the lyricity of the language. Makes me all fuzzy inside.

Getting Things Done

Today is day one of the lifestyle resolution, and I dove in to those icy waters of actually getting stuff done. The best way I could think of doing this was by dusting off an old pal - The Potion Factory’s The Hit List a beautiful, native Mac GTD application which I snapped up at a wonderful bargain in the Macheist3 Bundle. Now, normally I’m seen sticking in the odd to do into Cultured Code’s Things for iPhone, unfortunately there isn’t much cohesion between that and my MacBook because simply I think Things for Mac is sorely overpriced despite being a fully fledged, pretty and very usable (in demo mode at least). So I reach somewhat of a dilemma. I have Things for iPhone, do I take the plunge into an app I’m not up for paying the money for just to get the desktop version for full functionality? Or perhaps I wait on The Hit List’s upcoming iPhone version to come out which is only entering private beta now - the guaranteed cheap option?

I’ve lumped for the safe, cheap and preferable option - waiting. I reckon THL for iPhone is going to be as full featured as the desktop version and blow Things out of the water.

In terms of changing my life, I did - a little. I’ve begun an exercise regimen which consisted today of running 5km in 43 minutes and eating nothing but eggs. Luckily I treated myself to the lovely Japanese Sencha Green Tea I’d forgotten about and that’s so far lulled me into relaxation.

I’m glad I’m keeping these changes up, including keeping this regular blog. From now on this will be the daily source of insights and stories from me and the main doorofkukondo.com will be used for longer article-y style posts which I’ll do every week or two weeks or so, I’ll try and make those clever and interesting and so forth.

Until the next time - what does everyone think, the Things Mac + iPhone setup or The Hit List (uncompleted) Mac + iPhone setup?

A Resolution

For some reason, today I was compelled to bet that I could finally begin to eat sensibly. Normally I eat like an over zealous fat kid. So in light of an approaching formal and indeed a slightly tight fitting butterfly collared shirt it seems like a good idea to begin eating right. Though, why not kill two birds with one stone? Why only begin to eat right without making a few routine changes to ensure my post 18 years old life. I just can’t get away with being lazy anymore, getting into the habit of being quite active seems important, that and Holland and Barrett have a half price sale on protein powder and other sports supplements. Nice physique - here I come.

I do hope I can make a few small changes which should change how I feel a lot. I’ll keep everyone posted :)
